Fellas, and ma'am - I contacted the owner of the property where Foot's pisshole blind is. I thought it'd be a good place to go after the service Wednesday and just hang out for a bit. Tony, the owner, told me Foot's waders are still hanging in the barn there and he graciously agreed that it'd be a great place to tell a story or two remembering John.
This won't be some fancy dinner, just a place big enough to park everyone and have a few beers overlooking one of John's favorite haunts in the barn where he kept his hunting gear and told lies.
I figure we can bring a few coolers of beer, maybe some sammiches, and raise a few to our friend.
I'd like to have an idea of how many of you boys, and girls, plan to attend the service and are interested in a get together for a few hours in a less "formal" way. Once I get an idea of who may be coming I'll look into some food of some sort.
This property is right next door to Columbia Bottoms CA and a short drive from the funeral home.

I am going to try to re-arrange my work schedule to get there.
Since older brother doesn't visit hera anymore, I copied this and emailed it to him. If he can sneak past the War Department I imagine he'll try to make it too.

Wish I could make it but the wife and I are going to be out of town on a vacation trip. Our condolences to the family and all of John's friends. I'll still hoist a few on that day.

Though I wish I could be there to HONOR John with you all, I have chartered a Walleye fishing trip on lake Eire for wed. know I will be thinking of his adventures & your gathering in his HONOR.

For those who can't make the funeral on Wednesday, Troy, Bailey, and myself were talking. Saturday July 2nd, we are planning a gathering at Wilton Boat Club to celebrate John's life. Just like the past, alcohol, great eats, laughs, bombs, pitbulls, & hookers .......uh, well girlfriends and wives, just don't bring both. 
Troy will have the boat club open and ready for everyone to show up. If the river is higher than giraffe beardedclam......we will head to higher ground to do all of the above in another setting. Put it on the calender for July 4th weekend. The 3 day weekend should work better for the folks working or traveling.

Anything going on construction/traffic wise that a brutha coming from KC should know about?
Mapquest says I-70 to 270 North to 367 North to Dunn Road onto Lusher Road to Redman is the best route? Is that the best route?
